Inverness Airport is situated East of Inverness with flights from around the UK. There is an airport bus service which operates to Forres and Elgin in Moray.
Aberdeen Airport is situated at Dyce. There is a bus-
Trains
Scotrail operates the railway line between Inverness and Aberdeen. Trains stop in Moray at Forres, Elgin and Keith. There are regular connections to Inverness and Aberdeen from the South.
The Caledonian Sleeper is the overnight train from London Euston to Aberdeen or Inverness. Tickets go on sale 22 weeks in advance for best prices.
Nationwide Buses
Megabus is a discount fare bus company with frequent limited stop, fast routes North to either Aberdeen or Inverness. Join the service at Glasgow, Edinburgh (and Edinburgh Airport), Dundee or Perth. Continue to Moray by Local Bus or Train. Citlylink runs buses along similar routes but with more stops.
Moray Buses
Buses are run by Stagecoach Bluebird. There is a frequent service (No.10 ), which runs between Inverness and Aberdeen along the A96. Local towns and villages are served by a number of buses from Elgin Bus Station. For cheap bus travel around Moray, ask the bus driver about the Moray Megarider weekly ticket.
Travelling by Car
Most touring in Moray is done by car and there are a few car hire businesses. Expect to pay £25 plus per day. The roads in Moray require a certain amount of patience, as there are not many safe overtaking opportunities. Many of the minor roads have passing places and some roads widen and narrow as you travel along. Walkers, cyclists and deer are a frequent occurrence!
