Visiting Elgin Information

Elgin Tourist Information Centre is based in Elgin Library in Cooper Park. This is a recent move from the High Street, so your guidebook may have the old address.

Exchange currency at Elgin Post Office. It lies on Batchen Street just off the High Street (IV30 1BH). There are also travel agents in the High Street with currency exchanges.

Public internet access at Elgin Library.

Elgin town centre has a great selection of shops concentrated around the High Street. Check out the St Giles Shopping Centre. Take time to wander up the streets and closes which lead to South Street as you’ll discover lots of independent shops on the way.

Public conveniences can be found in Elgin Library, Cooper Park. Also nearby beside the bowling green (near Elgin Cathedral). There are public conveniences on the ground floor of the St Giles Shopping Centre.

Car Parking, Elgin Train Station and Elgin Bus Station

The centre of Elgin is pedestrianised. There are free short stay car park spaces on the surrounding streets and signed pay and display car parks. However, there is long term, free parking behind the town hall and also near the library (off the A941). It's a short walk to town from there.

Elgin Train Station is about 15 minutes walk from the town centre. There is a taxi rank at the station and one at the West end of the High Street.

Elgin Bus Station is centrally located behind the St Giles Shopping Centre with services to Moray towns. The No.10 is the main bus service between Inverness & Aberdeen.
