Ben Rinnes

At 840m Ben Rinnes is one of the highest mountains in Moray. A relatively gentle hill walk, with some flat sections along clear paths and through stunning scenery. The final ascent is a bit steeper but worth the tremendous views over Moray.

 

B9009 from Dufftown, turn right towards Edinvillie and it’s a short distance to the car park.

 

Auchindoun Castle

The castle crowns a lonely hilltop with dramatic views over the surrounding hills. Built about 1480, it has fine architectural details and is surrounded by the ramparts of an Iron Age hillfort. Access on foot only. Free admission.
