Burghead Beach marks the eastern end of Burghead Bay.

It is a quiet beach popular with watersport enthusiasts and you will occasionally see windsurfers and kitesurfers. Initially stony, the beach then becomes sandy. The tide drifts a long way out making it ideal for kite buggying.

Directions - follow the signs for the Caravan site where there are a few parking spaces. In addition there is a car park further along the esplanade.

Burghead has a few eating places with good pubs, shop, bakery and there’s a mobile cafe near the esplanade.

For one of the best views in Moray, head up to the tip of Burghead. Spend some time in the Burghead heritage centre and discover why this quiet village played an important role in the history of Scotland.
