The visitors centre was founded in 1995 and is still going strong. Entirely run by volunteers, it moved to “The Cottage” in 2000.
The Cottage provides a range of useful services. Tourist information leaflets are available and the volunteers have lots of knowledge about the surrounding area.
Many visitors come to find out about their ancestors and the local volunteers are full of stories about people and places, past and present.
The Cottage also offers photocopying facilities and internet access for those who wish to do research or send emails.
In addition there is also a selection of gifts - some produced locally - available for purchase.
