Auchindoun Castle

The castle crowns a lonely hilltop with dramatic views over the surrounding hills. Built about 1480, it has fine architectural details and is surrounded by the ramparts of an Iron Age hillfort. Access on foot only.

Auchindoun Castle Travel Tip! Park just off the A941 where there’s space for a few cars. It’s a brisk 20-30 minute, uphill walk along the farm track (sometimes muddy). Alternatively, drive up to the new car park area.
