Market towns of Moray
The inland market towns of Forres, Elgin, Fochabers and Keith are all linked by the A96 road and by a long, rich history. Each, with the exception of Fochabers has whisky distilleries close by.
From Inverness, Forres is the first town you will reach and it's worth a visit with
its thriving high street and reputation for it's beautiful floral displays. The City
of Elgin is Moray's capital and is the main focus for shopping and entertainment
and of course Elgin Cathedral. Further East lies Fochabers near the banks of the
River Spey -
Historical and vibrant, Elgin is the capital of Moray with cathedral, shopping, gardens and nightlife.
Attractive town with a market atmosphere. Known for its gardens, distilleries and excellent museum.
With interesting heritage walks and local shops Keith surprises. Find Strathisla Distillery and the whisky train.
Speyfest Folk festival, mountain bike trails and
Baxter's Visitor Centre make Fochabers a must visit.
